The NSF ASSIST Center presented at the 5th annual mHealth Summit in Washington, DC.
The largest event of its kind, the 5th annual mHealth Summit delivers value for stakeholders across the mobile health ecosystem. The event uniquely gathers healthcare and technology leaders in government, the private sector, industry, academia, providers and not-for-profit organizations from across the mobile health continuum to advance collaboration in the use of wireless technology to improve health outcomes, reduce costs and create a new paradigm in health care delivery both in the United States and abroad.
The 2013 mHealth Summit gathered about 4000 attendees across the mobile health space from all aspects of industry, academia and government. With trillions of dollars of potential health care savings at stake there is a vibrant mixture of large and small businesses ranging from single person start-ups to giants like Verizon and AT&T exchanging information and setting the vision for the future of health care.
With its focus on self-powered wearable systems for monitoring physiological and environmental parameters, the ASSIST center is attracting interest from a wide variety of interested stakeholders in the mHealth space, with some organizations wanting to test and use ASSIST technologies in clinical trials, while others seek collaboration opportunities.
