Alper Bozkurt Receives 2016 IEEE Sensors Council Young Professional Award

Today, the IEEE Sensors Council honored Dr. Alper Bozkurt as the recipient of the 2016 Young Professional Award. ASSIST is privileged to benefit from Dr. Bozkurt’s hard work on a daily basis as he mentors students, develops testbed systems, forges partnerships with industry, and leads groundbreaking research.

The IEEE Sensors Council Young Professional Award is given annually to promote, recognize, and support contributions from young professional members within the fields of interest of the IEEE Sensors Council. The Young Professional Program is a membership program within IEEE, its goal being to ease the transition of young graduates from college to professional life.
In selecting Dr. Bozkurt, the council recognizes him:

“For his outstanding research, teaching, and outreach performance, including his leadership in innovating novel bionic cyberphysical systems using microelectronic and MEMS based neural and hemodynamic interfaces with various biological organisms to provide sensing and actuation solutions to engineering problems from healthcare to security.”
