ERC-Wide Workshop Report
The NSF Nanosystems Engineering Research Center for Advanced Self-Powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST) organized a one-day Engineering Research Centers (ERC) Workshop on February 9, 2024 at NSF headquarters in Alexandria, VA, inviting all ERCs to engage to share information about their use-inspired and translational research activities ongoing within the ERC ecosystem. This workshop was also an opportunity for the ERC community to learn about relevant programs at NSF of interest from the standpoint of pathways for self-sustainability. Specifically, learning about programs in the Directorate for Technology Innovation and Partnerships (TIP) such as the Engines program and the Accelerating Research Translation (ART) programs, and cross-cutting programs such as the Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers (IUCRC). The goal was to bring ERC leaders together for a day of learning, discovery, and dialogue among the ERC community to explore pathways for sustainability. The event also aimed to update NSF about the use-inspired and translational research activities going on within the ERC ecosystem.
